BEAT DOWN // THIRD TIME LUCKY

The Bird was at capacity by 9pm and a line of keen punters ran down the street and around the corner. For beat aficionados it was the place to be. Nineteen beatmakers took to the stage in a series of heats, then the hopefuls were whittled down to eight as things started to get to the pointy-like-a-stylus end. As the quarters went to the semis and then bang to the finals, it was Perth’s prodigal son of the beat Ta-ku who took out his third successive Beat Down Title – a three-peat! (Thanakfully he has now been retired and we should see a new champion arise out of Beat Down Four…)

Beatmakers who appeared on the night included Rob Shaker (2nd Place), Creed birch, Ian johnson, Axis, Ta-ku, Mathas, Raize, Silence, Fybdz86, Konflikt, Alphanumerics, Leonidis, Daniel Oath, Mike Viture, M’da V, Gravy.

We have video footage from all the rounds  so you will be seeing edits come out via. our video channel sometime in the coming months…
